my bunny Diva

I got my bunny Diva at Greenhill last Monday. She is very shy and thinks evrything is
scary and doesn't want to be held at all. Being held is scary to them because they do not feel supported in the air but somtimes you can find a bunny that likes to be held. Diva likes to play with balls, and sometimes you can evan play ball with her. She is a really nice bunny but a lot of work. Bunnies are a lot of work.

Bunnies

I am writing about bunnies because I am going to get one soon.  I am going to tell you about rabbits' diet, exercise and housing.  Rabbits can only have certain foods or they can get sick and die.  These are some of the foods they can eat: grass hay, rabbit pellets, carrots and lettuce as a treat, most fruit and fresh grass.

Rabbits need lots of exercise. When I get my rabbit I am going make an exercising pen for it. An exercising pen is a big rabbit proof area. Mine is going to be attached to its cage.

A rabbit needs a big cage for hopping and running around when it is not in its exercising pen.  I have a two story cage that is pretty big.

Hawaii pictures

Greetings! We've been having lots of beach time lately. Cameron and Gavin are getting quite proficient at boogie boarding, and Rowan continues to learn new ways to create sand structures :-). Gavin has also been quite into snorkeling this trip - much more so than previous trips. I think this interest is probably linked to his increased swimming ability! In true Gavin style though, once he finds something that he likes to do he sticks with it; case in point, he wanted to snorkel *constantly* today at the beach, alternately hitting Lane and I up to go out with him!

We are headed to a luau soon! Cameron and I attended this luau last year and really enjoyed it; this year, everyone is going.

One other interesting tidbit is that we haven't met a single American on this trip! EVERY SINGLE PERSON here is Canadian! Funny, eh? I guess they're all trying to escape their miserable weather, en masse! Anyhow, we've met lots of nice people and even more nice kids. Part of the Canadian phenomenon is that it is apparently the kids' spring break up there; coming during *someone's* spring break has been nice! We'll have to remember that for future years.

Hawaii

We are in Hawaii on the island of Maui.  We're in the same resort that we were in last time.  It has a big pool.  There are a lot of good walking trails and beaches that we can walk to.  My favorite beach is the Big Beach - that is its actual name!  I like it because it has good waves for boogie boarding, good snorkeling and good swimming.

We go out and look for frogs every night.  We see at least three of them.  The frogs are everywhere, in the grass and we even found one on our patio!  There are lots of ponds by our condo where the frogs like to hang out.  During the day we find lizards everywhere!  I even saw a dead one in the pool once.  Rowan even found a whole bunch of lizard eggs in a tree, and he smashed one.

hamsters

Nuts was my first hamster.  I did not have him for very long.  He was a mean little guy.  I got him about a year and a half ago, and I only had him for four days.  I probably would've returned him anyway because he was really mean.  He loved nuts, which is why I named him Nuts.  He ran on his wheel all night the three nights I had him.  He was so cute!

This is my hamster Yogurt. I have had him almost a year. I don't know how old he is because I got him at a pet store. I have had three hamsters. The first one was named Nuts. Yogurt is so nice. My third hamster is named Natasha and she is really nice too.

Yogurt is a common kind of hamster. He is a golden Syrian hamster. He is very good at fighting, and he cooperates in a lot of things. If you look at the rest of these pictures you will see one with him in clothing! It is really funny. My friend Bryleigh and I made lots of other clothes for Yogurt.

He also loves carrots and other veggies. He also likes bread, but I've only given him a little because I don't think it's very good for him.

This is my second hamster. Her name is Natasha. She is really nice but she does not like my friend Olivia. She tries to bite Olivia everytime she tries to handle her. She does really funny things. In one of these pictures she's trying to get nuts out of the toilet paper roll and she's sticking her head in it to try to get them out.

Natasha LOVES nuts. She will eat all that she can get her little paws on. Her favorite nuts are pecans and cashews.

I have tried putting clothing on her but she will not cooperate. She tries to jump out of my hand as soon as she sees it! I wish I could get it on her because she would look so funny!

Chicks!

We got three new chicks. They are named Tank, Midnight, and Chirpy.  Chirpy is the one on mommy's hand.  She is the best percher.  She also drinks the most.  Tank eats the most.  They are all starting to get tail feathers.  Tank is the biggest and has the most feathers.  Next is Midnight, then Chirpy.  Midnight likes to peck the perching chickens' feet.  Tank is the biggest bully.  He tries to jump on top of the other chickens.  He tries to hog all the food to himself.  Midnight is the best at jumping.  She once jumped all the way over the perch!  They are all growing really fast.
